What is BSMI?

According to the instructions provided by the Inspection Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Republic of China, BSMI is :

1. In order to make the products comply with safety, health, environmental protection and other technical regulations or standards, protect the rights and interests of consumers, and promote the normal development of the economy, the inspection of various commodities is carried out.
2. Specific responsibilities include: managing various chemical products, mechanical products, electronic products and electrical products and other commodities subject to inspection and voluntary product verification, and in order to promote the development of the domestic green energy industry, establish a national renewable energy certificate system and implement related businesses.

Among them, the products are divided into compulsory inspection products and voluntary inspection products. 

compulsory inspection products included various battery、electric pole saw、electric hand tools and other products.

Voluntary products are for the purpose of supplementing the insufficiency of mandatory products verification, taking into account the purpose of supporting the development of the industry and protecting the rights and interests of consumers.

In other words, as long as the product didn’t pass BSMI with battery, normally isn’t allow to trafficked in Taiwan!

There is no government inspection to check your safety

Although the cost of BSMI certification may be tens of thousands hundreds of thousands but to protect customer’s right and put an end to electric products of unknow origin, BSMI is the most important guarantee to customers.
